What Is The Measure Of Success?

What is a successful Christian? Is it one that has gained much knowledge from the bible and about things spiritual? Is it one that has gained much physical wealth and prosperity from applying the biblical principles to their business? Is it one that has developed a ministry to meet the needs of the broken and needy of this world? While these things may or may not be present in a Christian's life, this is not a reliable barometer for success, don't the unsaved citizens of this world have similar ones in their ranks.
No, the measure of success of a Christian, is in direct proportion to level of brokenness and obedience the believer has before the Lord. Working toward a pure heart should be the goal of every Disciple of Jesus. There is no other way other than passing through the potter's hands. We must all swim in the melting furnace to burn away the dross from our lives, so that the pure gold of the life of Christ may shine through us. In this world the least among us will be the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. To be broken in our heart means to be rich in the Kingdom of God. He who desires to be the greatest, must be the servant(dulos) of all.
What is the Lord urging you to do today, what ministry has been on your heart to participate in, maybe taking up a ministry to fill a need in your area? You and the Lord know, even if other's think all is well in your heart, I pray it is so with you, but if you know there is something tugging at your heart, go to the field of the harvest. Work while it is still day, fulfill your calling in Christ Jesus, do what you were created to do. I will close with this portion of the gospel of Mark.

Mark 10:28-31: 28 Then Peter began to say to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You.”
29 So Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, 30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Amen. So be it unto us according to his word to be broken and obedient before him.
