Dear Lord, please show me to your Holy place. That place of knowing, where only the peace of your love can dispel the confusion of fleshly worry and ungodly desires. I pray that my desire is only for You and your life of obedience. I want to love you more than my very life itself. My heart is to bring you joy, to be an instrument that you can use. Allow me to be chastened by your lovingkindness, and not your hot displeasure.
My enemies are all around me, to snare me or deceive me into a net of unrighteousness. You and You alone can deliver me from the fiery arrows that fly all around me. They are there to seek my destruction, to quiet my mouth. They are there to make me a laughingstock, a spectacle of failure. If I choose a path that is contrary to your ways, may it fail, but if I be found faithful, cheer me Lord. Let your servant find pleasure in your smile upon my life. I am sick and tired, I need you now, let your salvation come quickly. My friends bring more wounds than my enemies, I am destroyed if not for your sure word.
I rest in the knowledge of who You are. You are the bright and Morningstar. You alone hung the Worlds and formed the Heaven. There is no other God besides You. You are the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Who am I that you should even care about my existence? Yet you gave your very life for such people of insignificance as me. I Love you, Lord! I want to declare your name to all that will hear of your wonderful works. Thank you, Jesus, forgive me when I cry out to you!
Psalm 32
A Psalm of David. A Contemplation.
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3 When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long.
4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
5 I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
6 For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
7 You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
