The Transforming Love

"So he answered and said, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’”-Luke 10:12

We should not wait for the Father to send us some reminder of His love each day, tell Him you love Him first. Each day before you do anything else, you should tell the Father how much you love Him and His beloved Son, our Savior, there can be no words to say the thanks we should give for His sacrifice. We must get back to our first love. We want to pursue miracles, gifts, and the power of God in our lives, but there is something askew on our foundation, if we do not actively love the Father, many of us never even try to pursue a deeper relationship with Him. You don't have to be smart or a somebody in the world's eyes to pursue a love with the Father, you can be who you are, as He created you to pursue His love and friendship.
Why do we not pursue a loving relationship with the Father? Many times, I believe it is because of the cost to our own egos, we don't like to humble ourselves and we don't want to have to spend the time to do so. We like what we like, it goes against our desires and pleasures to seek the Lord, it requires a discipline and a dying to my selfishness. This is not a popular thing these days, but we must do it if we are to continue following Christ in purity and righteousness. Ephesians 4:14-15 warns us," that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—".
There was a movement in Paul’s day that had certain men come to the Corinthians to minister and many believers had allowed someone else to be their Spiritual guide or Authority, a person or group that claimed they could lead them into a common goal of supernatural power and manifestations, just as Paul had seen in His ministry. “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works...”-2 Corinthians 11:13-15.

It seems they wanted the glory and power without going through the sacrifices of Paul and that all ministers of the gospel are called to walk in., to be changed each day, by the purging of the Master Potter of the clay. There is no shortcut to true righteousness and the power of God in our lives, we must actively pursue and know the Father, allow Him to change us and develop in us the knowledge, truth and purity to be used as pleases Him to do so. There is a transforming Holy Spirit power in obedience to Him.
I would never give my 3 year old grandson a Samurai sword and tell him to fight the enemy, until He is ready. 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us," Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". How can he be ready if I don't train him, or can't train him? Are you allowing God to train you for battle, it starts with a pure heart before the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, receiving the fullness of His Spirit to understand His Holy Word which is our food and training manual in righteousness. We must change our course of passively following God and serving Christ, we must, therefore, submit ourselves to God in a depth that we never have before.
Below is an excerpt from a lecture by Rev. Charles G. Finney, it is from Lecture 2. 1837 on True Submission:

The other remark I wish to make is, that if any of you are deceived, and have a false hope, you are in the utmost danger of reviving your old hope, whenever you are awakened to consider your condition. It is a very common thing for such professors, after a season of anxiety and self-examination, to settle down again on the old foundation. The reason is, their habits of mind have become fixed in that channel, and therefore, by the laws of mind it is difficult to break into a new course. It is indispensable, therefore, if you ever mean to get right, that you should see clearly that you have hitherto been wholly wrong, so that you need not multiply any more the kind of efforts that have deceived you heretofore.

The Father of all creation has never changed in His love for mankind, nor has His Spiritual requirement for righteousness changed, that is truth in the inner heart. Dealing falsely with Yahweh God is like playing Russian roulette, keep playing and the end is sure to come to you. There is no reason but sinful pride in our heart that causes us to try and lie to God, the One who loved us enough to make a way for people in the dark to be righteous before Him, we as Gentiles had no way to deal truthfully with Him before Jesus came, we had no knowledge of spiritual truth as our father's worshiped created beings in their ignorance.

James 1:17 says,” Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."

Psalm 51:6a tells us,” Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom." So we see that truth pleases God when it is in our heart, we may gain wisdom or knowledge of Him. Truth leads to wisdom, wisdom gains in knowledge of Him and builds our faith in Christ and God.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.-Hebrews 11:6
