The House Falls While We Play in the Basement
And so it is the Lord is warning the Church, but no one gives heed. The Father is calling to His people, but no one hears the message, it is an abominable noise in their ears. The sound of a call to change, turn, repent is laughable to many. Our Lord tarries and we are following Him, they surely believe," there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus", but what does it mean to be "IN Christ Jesus?" Does it mean doing good works, making the services and signing really loud and as pretty as one can? Does it mean reading a scripture or two in the morning and saying a little prayer, then reading a book that tells me I can be as God, if I have enough faith?
And what is faith? Is it conjuring up a feeling or psyching myself up into believing I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me? Is that not talking about impossible tasks of Godly work that is in doing the will of the Father? Is not the will of the Father to be humble and obedient to His word and the doors of ministry He opens for me each day? Or is it believing for a million dollars so I can show the glorious bank of the Lord to others, that He is pleased with me because I have so much?
Do I not rob God if I have a large sum entrusted to my care and do nothing for suffering Christians around the world or do nothing for the struggling ministries trying to preach the gospel in almost impossible circumstances, but they quote the scripture that," I can do anything through Christ"... and they shame the shameless Thief, who proclaims lies in His name. The Lord is angry with hypocrisy in any form, it is time to come back to our Lord and be real Christians, men and women who will follow what is right in the face of drastic circumstances, let Him be real in our lives. Let us keep this scripture in truth , "Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,"-Philippians 1:27
Let's read the teaching of Paul regarding the true Christian life in 1 Corinthians chapter 9:
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
